In Winter Season, Argentiere is the ideal location for anyone seeking a truly exceptional alpine sports experience – with Les Grand Montets on your doorstep and ease of access to Le Brevent/La Flegere and Le Tour/Vallorcine there is an enviable daily choice between three extensive 'snow-sure' systems, above 2000m that together provide more than 150kms of marked piste/trail with runs suitable for all grades of skier from Beginner to Advanced.
For the experienced 'off-piste' skier and 'powderhound' Les Grand Montets is a paradise of bowls, couloirs and glacial skiing renowned the world over. While for many skiers a day long 16.5Km traverse of the Vallee Blanche from the Aiguille du Midi (3842m) to Chamonix remains the ultimate ski experience!
In Summer Season, Argentiere is a great location from which to enjoy the extensive range of adventure sports and leisure activities on offer in Chamonix Mont Blanc – to begin with there are over 300kms of way-marked walking trails many of which are categorised VTT for exploration by mountain bikers plus rock-climbing, ice-climbing, mountaineering, white-water rafting and parapenting. Alternatively you might opt for a leisurely game of Tennis or a round of Golf or simply relax and enjoy the most spectacular mountain scenery in Western Europe.
By night or by day the historic and picturesque village of Argentiere has much to offer – an excellent range of restaurants, cafes and lively alpine bars to satisfy most 'aprés-ski' requirements plus the quintessentially French range of boulangerie/patisserie, charcuterie, boucherie, many specialist sports shops and a mid-size supermarket all within a few minutes walk of any one of the argentiererentals.com properties.
Just 7kms down the valley lies Chamonix Mont Blanc, historic home to the 1st Winter Olympics and now acknowledged as the climbing and skiing capital of the World. Winter or Summer you could enjoy a leisurely day around the chic shops, boutiques, restaurants, cafes & bars, go to the indoor swimming pool at the Centre Sportif or take in a little local culture - visit the Alpine Museum, the Mont Blanc Observatory, travel on the cog-railway to Montenvers and the 'Ice Palace' at the Mer de Glace or simply ride the cable car all the way up to 3842m and walk around the amazing, spectacular, Aiguille du Midi.
